| Located conveniently, one can find many shopping avenues in and around the hotel, Starbucks is located within the Plaza premises making mornings fresh.
The breakfast buffet is to the point and precise while being good to taste.
Comfortable beds and pillows will surely make your nights in xiamen restful.
The pillow menu is a delightful little surprise, i definitely recommend it.
the gym and spa are nice and are East facing so the Sun comes in early in the morning when you are working out, gives a nice view of Xiamen.
I give the hotel an 8.5 on 10 without a doubt. I have stayed here twice now and I would love to stay again. |

| The staff are all very nice and polite. Construction that was underway last year during our stay was completed. The rooms are phenomenal with the softest "western" beds I have ever slept on in a Chinese hotel. Usually beds in Chinese hotels are harder than the floor in the room with less padding than what is under the carpet! But at the Crowne Plaza in Xiamen, the beds are a little touch of American top class hotel bedding - after spending 2 weeks on concrete slab beds in various different cities, the Crowne Plaza in Xiamen is a little piece of heaven for our backs. We love staying at this hotel and always book our rooms here instead of the Marco Polo in Xiamen (also a top class hotel) because of the service and comfort of the hotel. The location may not be as nice for walking in the evenings as the Marco Polo (which has beautiful parks surrounding it), but I will take comfort and a good night's sleep over scenery any day! |

| After staying in a Chinese style hotel in a small city, the Crowne Plaza Xiamen was a welcome change. For those who are home sick, this is as close as America as you can get with many of the popular American TV channels and the western cuisine in the restaurant. The rooms are spacious, modern, clean, comfortable, well furnished, etc. The location is also pretty good. It is next to a shopping center with the highend stores like Gucci which was empty when I was there. There is another large mall/shopping area with a Pizza Hut and a bunch of other restaurants about 1 block away, across the street. If you want to treat yourself to McDonald's after you had enough Chinese food, there is one also about 1 block away. There is a few Japanese and Thai restuarants and a pretty decent looking (expensive) Italian restuarant (Bellagio?) about 1 block away also.
Airport shuttle bus starts at 8:30 am which is late for most morning flights unless it is after 10.
I have stay at many other hotels including other Crown Plazas in Beijing, Shanghai and other Chinese cities and I think this one is one of the best and well run. I have stayed at another hotel in Xiamen but this is definitely the one I would return to. |
